Accommodation Options:
Many
folks from the metroplex are able to “commute” to the clinic due to
proximity to Decatur. Some folks either; a) commute both days and
opt to “board” horse at the Bed & Barn facility on site OR b) commute
the 1st day and stay overnight in local hotel to be close by and
ready at 8:30am for the 2nd day of clinic (again boarding horse
one night at B&B).
Others coming from a greater distance may want to stay on-site, at the Bed &
Barn, if space is available. Reservations at the B&B require a
two-night stay which is perfect for those who are traveling a
greater distance anyway. It’s obviously very convenient and you are with
your horses on the premises. If there is no space available, these
travelers may still arrive on Friday, stay at a local hotel and board their
horses at the B&B. Rooms at the Bed & Barn are $125 (plus 6% occupancy tax)
for double occupancy for the weekend. Most rooms have a Queen bed; however
there is one room with 2 twin beds. Continental Breakfast is provided and
there is a Jacuzzi on the porch.
There is also an “apartment” available at the Bed & Barn which offers 1,000
sq. ft, large living area and full kitchen privileges that will sleep 4 – 6
people but this should be reserved by couples/groups that are familiar with
one another (two queen beds). So you may want to get a group of 4 folks
together to “share” the clinic experience!
I
can also accommodate 1 or 2 trailer hook-ups at $20/night (electricity and
water). Reservations are required since there will be a lot of logistics
involved in parking a number of trailers at once!
If
you arrive early enough on Friday, you will have time to trail ride at the
LBJ National Grasslands adjacent to the Bed & Barn (75 miles of marked horse
trails).

Horse
Boarding:
There is plenty of space to contain horses; however there are only 6 covered
stalls. The outdoor containment areas are plenty spacious and many provide
tree cover. All horse boarding is self-care, self-feed and self clean
daily. If you are staying at a hotel, I will be happy to feed your horse in
the morning so they are not “worked” right after feeding (pre-arrangements
need to be made for this). Cost of boarding per nite/horse is $10/night
covered, $5/night pens. These are first come/first served |
